DATEV
DATEV is not connected. Nothing you do in Business-Gym reaches DATEV today — no booking, no document upload, no payment status, no export handed over. It is the most-requested connector, and parts of it are built and waiting, but none of them are switched on.
This page tells you exactly what is prepared, what does not work, and what to do instead. It does not promise a date.
Is DATEV connected today?
Section titled “Is DATEV connected today?”No. On your Integrations screen DATEV appears under Finance and operations with a grey “Coming soon” pill and a dashed card, and every action on it is disabled. There is no Connect flow to start, no credentials to paste, and no OAuth screen behind it.
That listing is deliberate. Business-Gym shows connectors it has not built so you can see what is missing, rather than hiding the gap. The same honesty rule applies everywhere else on the platform — see integrations for how each connection is described.
What is already built behind the scenes?
Section titled “What is already built behind the scenes?”A DATEV effector module exists inside the platform, wired into the action runner, with six named operations that are the shape of the eventual connector. Every one of them is dark today.
The six operations are:
- Read open items (offene Posten / overdue receivables)
- Read the cash and bank position
- Upload a document (invoice, Gutschrift, contract PDF)
- Set a document’s payment status
- Attach a bank position to a document
- Create a booking via a DATEV-Format / EXTF export file
Ask for any of these and the step returns a plain “not connected” result and queues. It never reports a booking, an upload or a figure that did not happen — the same behaviour described in the inbound → approve → execute loop.
Can the desktop operator reach DATEV at all?
Section titled “Can the desktop operator reach DATEV at all?”Partly, and only to read. A desktop operator is a machine you register that drives tools you are already logged in to. Registered operators live on the admin-only Operators screen, where an administrator registers one, copies a one-time token into the desktop app, and can rotate or revoke it later.
The DATEV actions Business-Gym will issue to that operator are all reads:
- List documents
- Pull a BWA
- Read a screen (it needs a URL and a question)
- Read bank balances
- Refresh bank feeds
Nothing that books, uploads, submits or changes a payment status is on that list, so a head cannot issue one. A read like listing documents or pulling a BWA runs without an approval; anything else fails closed to a human decision.
What can I do about bookkeeping meanwhile?
Section titled “What can I do about bookkeeping meanwhile?”Two things work today and are worth setting up now. Both keep your accounting reality inside Business-Gym without pretending a connection exists.
Put your DATEV exports into the Knowledge Base. Use Add files on the Knowledge Base screen. CSV, TSV, text, PDF, Word and spreadsheet files have their text extracted, chunked, embedded and indexed, so a head can answer a question about a BWA or a Kontenplan and cite the real document. Choose the scope carefully — a tenant-wide document is visible to every head, a department scope stays with that one.
Turn accounting follow-ups into tasks. Approving an inbound item’s Create a task action lands a task in the automatically created Inbound project, assigned to the routed head, so an invoice that still needs booking becomes tracked work with an owner rather than a silent gap — see projects and tasks. Invoice records stay useful for tracking state too; read revenue and invoices for what approving an invoice does and does not do.
Will a DATEV booking ever run without me?
Section titled “Will a DATEV booking ever run without me?”No, and it is not a setting anyone can switch. Booking and money sit in the money risk class, which is forced to a human decision no matter how confident the system becomes or how high a head’s autonomy dial is set. That floor is permanent and applies per action, not per company — autonomy and the hard floor explains where it comes from.
Autonomy in Business-Gym today is supervised and propose-only: work is prepared for you and waits. A live DATEV connector would change what a step can reach, not who decides.
How will I know when something changes?
Section titled “How will I know when something changes?”Watch the DATEV card on your Integrations screen. A connector that is genuinely available stops showing the “Coming soon” pill and starts showing a real connection status from a live probe, with its actions enabled instead of greyed out.
Until that card changes, treat every DATEV step as queued and do the bookkeeping handover the way you do now. No timeline is published, and this page will be updated when the state does.
Next: see what else is and is not connected in integrations, or read how work reaches your queue in the first place in the inbound → approve → execute loop.
